Russian plane makes emergency landing due to fuel leak: details of the incident.
According to ТСН: The aircraft of the Russian airline 'Aeroflot', operating a flight from Irkutsk to Moscow, was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Perm airport 'Bolshoye Savino' due to a technical malfunction. This is another case of an emergency situation in the aviation sector of the RF.
The commander of the crew made the decision for an unplanned landing after the activation of an indicator that indicated increased fuel consumption, which could suggest a possible leak. The aircraft landed successfully, and a backup flight was sent for the further transportation of passengers to Moscow.
Aviation fleet crisis: consequences of sanctions
This incident is not isolated for Russian carriers lately. The number of emergency situations is rising, which is related to the onset of full-scale war and international sanctions that have significantly deteriorated the technical condition of the aviation fleet.
Among recent cases, it is worth highlighting:
January: an 'Aeroflot' flight from Istanbul to Moscow made an emergency landing in Astrakhan due to a technical malfunction.
March: Airbus A320 performed an emergency landing in Saratov after a signal about a possible depressurization.
April: a liner flying to Denpasar requested an emergency landing in Sheremetyevo due to an engine failure.
Problems in aviation have become systemic. In the 11 months of last year, 208 incidents were recorded in Russia, which is 25% more than in the previous year. About half of them were caused by engine failures or landing gear malfunctions.
Experts note that due to sanctions, Russian companies do not have access to original spare parts and proper maintenance from international manufacturers, so improvements in flight safety are currently not anticipated.
It is also worth mentioning that a passenger liner of the 'Russie' airline recently made an emergency landing in Khabarovsk due to part of the fuselage detaching during flight on a Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100.
In Russia, the number of accidents and aviation disasters is increasing, as well as the number of fatalities among passengers and crew members during the operation of aircraft.
International sanctions and forced 'cannibalization' of aircraft continue to harm civilian aviation in Russia. At the current pace, the aviation fleet may shrink by more than half compared to pre-war times within just a few months.
This incident and similar ones highlight serious problems in Russia's aviation sector, caused not only by technical malfunctions but also by widespread sanctions. In case of further escalation of the situation, this may lead to an even larger crisis in the country's transport sector. The ongoing increase in emergency situations underscores the urgency of addressing these issues and the need to restore safety in air transportation.Read also
