Student scholarships will double from 2026: new payment amounts.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, significant increases in scholarships for university and college students are planned, starting from September 1, 2026.
This information was released by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. The budget for 2026 allocates 6.6 billion UAH for academic and named scholarships, which is 1.2 billion UAH more than in 2025.
“University and college students will receive double the payments starting from September 1, 2026,” the Ministry of Finance's statement reads.
Universities will receive increases for all types of scholarships, from minimum academic to presidential and industry-specific scholarships. Colleges will also experience similar changes: minimum, enhanced, industry-specific, and named scholarships will double.
How will scholarships change for college students?
Presidential scholarship: currently - 7,600 UAH, will increase to 15,200 UAH.
Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada scholarship: currently - 3,320 UAH, will increase to 6,640 UAH.
Minimum academic scholarship: currently - 1,510 UAH, will increase to 3,020 UAH.
Enhanced academic scholarship: currently - 2,197 UAH, will increase to 4,394 UAH.
Industry-specific scholarship: currently - 1,930 UAH, will increase to 3,860 UAH.
Industry-specific scholarship (enhanced): currently - 2,809 UAH, will increase to 5,618 UAH.
How will scholarships change for university students?
Presidential scholarship: currently - 10,000 UAH, will increase to 20,000 UAH.
Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada scholarship: currently - 4,400 UAH, will increase to 8,800 UAH.
Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers scholarship: currently - 4,000 UAH, will increase to 8,000 UAH.
Minimum academic scholarship: currently - 2,000 UAH, will increase to 4,000 UAH.
Enhanced academic scholarship: currently - 2,910 UAH, will increase to 5,820 UAH.
Industry-specific scholarship: currently - 2,550 UAH, will increase to 5,100 UAH.
Industry-specific scholarship (enhanced): currently - 3,710 UAH, will increase to 7,420 UAH.
It is also worth noting that the parliament recently approved the state budget for 2026, which maintains salary increases for educators and healthcare workers, as well as social standards. However, funds for military salary increases were not provided, which has drawn criticism from the opposition. Government representatives plan to revise the budget after ensuring funding for the deficit.
