Ukraine Advances Development of New Ballistic Missiles

According to TSN.ua: Ukraine is continuing the development of its new FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles, systems designed to strike Russian targets at considerable distances. This domestic weapons program represents a significant step in strengthening the country's long-range strike capabilities. Denis Shtillerman, the lead designer at Fire Point, has announced that the base version of the FP-7 missile has successfully completed all testing phases. The FP-7 has an operational radius capable of hitting targets several hundred kilometers away, with a maximum flight range reaching 300 km.

Capabilities of the FP-7 and FP-9 Missiles

The more powerful FP-9 missile has a projected flight range of approximately 800-850 km and can carry a warhead weighing up to 850 kg. Initial tests for the FP-9 are scheduled for the beginning of the summer season.

Denis Shtillerman confirmed the new missile's range: 'Yes, 800 kilometers.'
He also expressed optimism about the testing timeline: 'For the FP-9, I hope it will be at the beginning of this summer. Yes, they will be tested. Because we have everything we need.' Furthermore, he added, 'I am confident that by the start of summer, we will have combat applications for the FP-7.'

The progress on these missile systems highlights Ukraine's advancements in military technology and opens new avenues for enhancing national security. The creation of the FP-7 and FP-9 could substantially bolster Ukraine's defensive and deterrent capabilities, a critical factor amid the ongoing conflict. Developing indigenous missile technology allows the nation to reduce reliance on imported military hardware and increase the effectiveness of its armed forces.
