The Rada failed to appoint Shmyhal: Ukraine remains without ministers of defense and energy.
According to ТСН: The Verkhovna Rada did not support the appointment of Denys Shmyhal as the first vice prime minister - minister of energy of Ukraine.
Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zhelezniak reported that the results of the vote showed that 210 deputies voted, which did not meet the required minimum. He also noted that the position of minister of energy has been vacant for 55 days since the previous head left the government.
Consequences of the failure of the vote
Due to the inability to make this decision, the parliament could not move on to discuss the next personnel issue - the appointment of the minister of defense. As a result, all personnel issues were excluded from the agenda.
Further steps
According to the deputy, a new attempt to consider personnel appointments is planned for the next day. At the moment, Ukraine, during the full-scale war, remains without a minister of energy, a minister of defense, and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The situation with personnel changes in Ukraine poses new challenges, as the country needs effective management not only in the energy sphere but also in defense areas. In the context of a constant threat, it is important that all key positions are filled and function smoothly to ensure the stability and security of the state.
