Linguist, scientist, and MP Iryna Farion, who was murdered on July 19, is now the subject of excursions to her grave. A correspondent of 'Glavkom' was present at one such excursion, where visitors were told about the linguist.

As known, Iryna Farion is buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv on the central alley (field 22) not far from the grave of Volodymyr Ivasyuk.

The grave has been strewn with flowers since the first day after the burial. Nearby there are candles and photos of Farion from various periods of her life. In the center, you can see the words: 'Language is a weapon.’ Also, behind the cross, there are two flags: the yellow-blue and the red-black—the revolutionary flag of the OUN.

The Lychakiv Cemetery is the resting place for prominent figures of Ukraine, such as: Ivan Franko, Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Hryhoriy Tiutiunnyk, Solomiya Krushelnytska. Since the cemetery is a national museum, the entrance ticket costs 80 UAH for adults, 50 UAH for students and children.

Tour cost

The cost of the excursion depends on the number of people: for a group of up to 10 people – 150 UAH, for a group of more than 10 people – 230 UAH. The duration of the excursion is 1 hour.

As known, in the evening of July 19, former MP and linguist Iryna Farion died in the hospital after an assassination attempt. She was shot by an unknown person, with the assassination taking place on Masaryk Street in Lviv. It was there that residents supposedly noticed a young man throughout the week.

Later, the suspect in the murder of linguist Iryna Farion did not plead guilty after the court chose a preventive measure for him. On September 19, a court session was held in Lviv in the case of the murder of Professor Iryna Farion. The judge left the preventive measure for the suspect in the murder of linguist Vyacheslav Zinchenko unchanged. He will be in custody without bail until November 17 of this year.
