In Odesa, a man cut his veins in the recruitment center: what really happened according to the authorities.
Suicide attempt at the territorial center
According to ТСН: In Odesa, in the premises of the Kyiv District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, a man attempted to harm himself by cutting his veins. This incident occurred during standard procedures, after which emergency services and police were called to the scene.
According to the territorial center, the man was brought to the Kyiv RTC and SP of Odesa by officers of the National Police of Ukraine, as he was wanted for violating military registration rules.
"Contrary to popular claims, the citizen did not provide any medical documents confirming his unfitness for military service, and in the only electronic register 'Oberih', there is no data on the existence of a deferment," the RTC said.
During the standard procedures, he made a suicide attempt, seeking to avoid conscription and pressure on officials. Emergency medical assistance and police were immediately summoned.
Furthermore, the recruitment center noted that the man behaved aggressively, threatening medical staff and military personnel with a knife, which prevented medics from providing him with the necessary assistance. Eventually, the injured person was hospitalized.
The RTC also emphasized that no physical force or illegal actions were applied by the military. The military and police did everything possible to save the man's life and health.
The recruitment center stressed that such actions may indicate demonstrative blackmail and attempts to avoid fulfilling constitutional duties through manipulation of public opinion.
"We urge the public to critically evaluate the statements of individuals attempting to justify violations of the law with emotional provocations and the spread of false information," the appeal states.
Recently, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, spoke out regarding attacks on recruitment officers, calling on everyone to act within the law and respect human rights.
Recall that recently in Kyiv, the police used tear gas to detain a man who was also wanted by the RTC. After his detention, it became clear that the 39-year-old man was committing gross disobedience to law and order, and he was sent for a military medical commission.
This incident highlights serious problems facing the military registration system in Ukraine. In wartime, heightened attention to conscription and military registration creates tensions between the authorities and citizens. It is important to ensure respect for human rights and to avoid conflicts that may lead to tragic consequences.
