The Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and mobilization until May 4, 2026.
According to ТСН: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to extend martial law in the country for another 90 days.
333 members of parliament voted for decree No. 14366, as reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
Terms of martial law
The current terms of previous decrees establish martial law until February 3, 2026 (5 AM). Thus, the new extension will be in effect until May 4, 2026. This is already the eighteenth time the parliament has voted for the extension of this special legal regime.
Mobilization
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada has also extended general mobilization for 90 days, which will last until May 4, 2026.
After the vote, the document will be sent for the signature of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and the President of Ukraine for final approval.
Security guarantees
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky noted that martial law would end when security guarantees appear in Ukraine, which include monitoring and the presence of international partners.
It is also worth reminding that recently the Verkhovna Rada appointed Mykhailo Fedorov as the Minister of Defense, whose candidacy was supported by 277 deputies.
The continuation of martial law and mobilization indicates that the situation in the country remains complicated, and the government is taking measures to ensure the country's security. While international partners continue to support Ukraine, it is important to maintain stability and security until the situation allows for the lifting of these measures.
