He revealed that he never submitted an application to be on the program; instead, the show's producers directly invited him to test his abilities. Yatsenko competed in the show's eighth season, performing the song 'Hutsulka Ksenya' during the blind auditions.

At the time of his appearance, Yatsenko was preparing to move to the city of Lviv. Despite his performance, none of the judges' chairs turned around for him. Reflecting on the experience, Yatsenko noted that at 21 or 22 years old, he saw it as a fun and interesting venture. He also stated that he was not upset about being eliminated from the competition.
