According to ТСН: The cause of the derailment of the freight train near Korosten in the Zhytomyr region was an explosive impact, likely from a drone of the 'Shahed' type.

This was reported by 'Ukrzaliznytsia'.

"Preliminary: the freight train was hit by detonation - likely from a UAV of the 'Shahed' type," the company's message states.

Currently, investigative actions are underway, and law enforcement will determine the exact circumstances of the incident.

It should be noted that due to this railway accident in the Zhytomyr region, many passenger trains are delayed, and certain routes have been changed. Among the passengers, there were no serious injuries, but one woman suffered a cut from glass and was provided assistance on-site. The driver and his assistant were also injured and hospitalized.
