Evacuations from the Kherson Region

According to TSN.ua: Andriy Petukhov, a volunteer who goes by the call sign 'Boxer', is leading efforts to evacuate civilians from the dangerous 'red zones' in the Kherson region. He observes that many residents postpone leaving until the situation becomes critical, which often leads to perilous circumstances. The Kherson region has been a frontline area since the liberation of Kherson city in November 2022, facing constant shelling.

Petukhov notes that a frequent issue is a failure to grasp the full severity of the threat.

"It happens sometimes. People simply don't understand what could occur, and they could have left earlier when it was calm,"
the volunteer states. He explains that another key reason people delay departure from red zones is their strong sense of community.
"The second reason people stay in the Red Zone is that they are united. They help each other,"
Petukhov clarifies.

Furthermore, Andriy points out that concern for animals is a significant factor keeping people in hazardous areas. "Some are looking after animals in the red zone," he adds. Thus, volunteer 'Boxer' emphasizes that while evacuation is a crucial step for safety, many people still hesitate to make this difficult decision.

The Situation in the Kherson Region

The situation in the Kherson region remains tense, and the evacuation of civilians is critically important for preserving their lives and health. The statements from volunteer Andriy Petukhov highlight the vital need for timely decisions under dangerous conditions, as well as the role of community in providing mutual support during hardship. The issue of civilian evacuation and safety demands constant attention and active measures from both volunteers and the state.
