Night strikes on Ukraine's energy facilities

According to ТСН: Last night, Russia launched a massive strike on energy facilities in several Ukrainian regions, including Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zhytomyr. As a result of the attacks, some consumers, particularly in Odesa region, were left without electricity.

Emergency recovery work has already begun, as reported by Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak.

“The Christmas week began with massive attacks by the enemy. Emergency recovery work is underway, and some consumers are already being reconnected,” Andarak noted during a briefing.

He also added that electricity consumption corresponds to seasonal indicators, and the government has revised the list of critical infrastructure facilities, allowing for nearly 1 GW of capacity to be freed up for the population. By December 24, energy resources will be directed towards reducing the duration of electricity outages.

The Fuel Situation is Stable

Fuel imports are being carried out through various logistics routes – road, rail, and sea. The situation remains controlled.

Recommendations for the Population

In areas where scheduled outages are being implemented, Andarak urged citizens to consume electricity economically, limit the use of powerful appliances, and, if possible, shift energy-intensive processes to nighttime after 11 PM.

Energy and Diplomacy

The Deputy Minister congratulated energy sector workers and diplomats on the holidays, emphasizing the importance of international support:

“Energy diplomacy is an integral part of the energy front, and Ukraine's energy security directly depends on the solidarity of international partners.”

The Ministry of Energy and Ukrenergo note that the situation in the energy system may change. Current information on outage schedules can be checked on the official websites of energy suppliers in the regions.

Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian government would ensure the redirecting of up to 1 GW of freed electricity for the needs of the population by Christmas.

The energy situation in Ukraine remains complicated, especially in the context of massive attacks on infrastructure. The government and specialists continue to work on restoring energy supply, adapting strategies according to current challenges. Citizens hope for a quick restoration of services and stability in the energy sector in the near future.
