Massive drone attack on Crimea: oil depot and power station are on fire

According to ТСН: Saturday evening in Crimea was filled with events. Local public pages report about massive attacks by 'unknown' drones that covered the north, center, and east of the peninsula.

The consequences of the attacks were described in the Telegram channel 'Crimean Wind'.

Oil depot and 'light' in Simferopol

The most tense situation was in the area of Feodosia. According to local residents, drones hit the oil depot. Despite the chaotic shooting of the Russian air defense, not everyone managed to avoid the strikes.

In Simferopol, a power station was damaged. The explosions were so powerful that the glow from the fire was visible several kilometers away.

‘Street lighting in Simferopol is no longer needed — everything is illuminated by the burning oil depot,’ writes 'Crimean Wind'.

There are also reports about the fallen drone on the street in Pervomaiske and a strong explosion in the area of the village of Shyroke.

Airfields under attack

The attack was comprehensive, as explosions were also heard in many areas where Russian aviation is located:

  • Hvardiyske: a military airfield, where around 23:54 residents heard intense shooting at UAVs.

  • Saky: another base of the occupiers, where activity was recorded.

  • Jankoy: an important logistics hub in northern Crimea was also shelled.

Occupants' version

The Russian Ministry of Defense traditionally tries to downplay the scale of destruction. They have already claimed that supposedly 94 drones were destroyed that evening, of which 41 — right over the territory of Crimea.

However, numerous video recordings of fires and reports of ambulances indicate that Russian air defense did not cope with all the targets. The local occupation authorities have not yet commented on the situation on the peninsula.

It is worth noting that the nighttime drone attack on Russia led to the temporary closure of airspace over Moscow, causing significant disruptions in civil aviation. This incident, particularly the delay of the Armenian Prime Minister's flight, experts consider just the 'visible part' of a larger aviation collapse.
