Zelenskyy reveals why Israel was left out of his Middle East tour.
Ukrainian President’s Missed Visit to Israel
According to TSN.ua: Volodymyr Zelenskyy has clarified the reason he did not include Israel in his recent Middle Eastern tour. According to the Ukrainian leader, there were no prior communications with the country, and the lack of direct contact made arranging a meeting impossible.
Zelenskyy stated that he had no telephone conversations or expert-level exchanges with Israeli officials.
“I had no contact with Israel, neither by phone nor at the expert level,” he emphasized, explaining the rationale behind his decision.
Breakthroughs in the Middle East
Despite skipping Israel, Zelenskyy’s tour yielded historic agreements aimed at de-escalation in the region.
“I spoke with the leaders (of Middle Eastern countries),” the president noted. He expressed hope that these accords 'open the door to further negotiations and help stabilize the situation in the area.' Thus, even without engaging Israel, the Ukrainian leader continues to push forward peace efforts in the region.
The absence of communication between Ukraine and Israel highlights certain diplomatic hurdles that could strain bilateral relations. At the same time, Zelenskyy’s success in securing deals with other Middle Eastern nations underscores Ukraine’s proactive role in regional affairs. This may create fresh avenues for collaboration and strengthen diplomatic ties going forward—a crucial step for ensuring stability in this strategically important part of the world.
