National Roaming During Blackouts: How to Stay Connected Without Power.
According to ТСН: Recently, many Ukrainians are facing problems with electricity supply and communication due to attacks from Russia.
In response to these difficulties, the authorities have suggested useful recommendations on how to stay connected even during power outages.
Tips for Maintaining Communication
Citizens are advised to use national roaming if there are issues with the mobile network. This feature allows you to automatically or manually switch to another available mobile operator if your regular operator is not working.
To switch to another network, turn off the automatic network selection in your phone's settings. On Android, go to 'Settings', then 'Mobile Network' (or 'Connections' and select 'Operator'). On iPhone, do the following: 'Settings', then 'Mobile Data', and then 'Network Selection'.
After that, manually select one of the available networks: Vodafone UA, UA-KYIVSTAR, or LIFECELL. If you cannot connect immediately, try again or select another network, or restart your phone and try again. After a successful connection, check the ability to make calls or send SMS.
Additional Recommendations
It is also useful to download the map of 'Resilience Points' in the 'Diia' app. At these locations, you can charge your phone, access the Internet, and get necessary information even during a complete blackout.
Previously, we wrote about which devices can help you survive a blackout.
The government's tips aim to ease the lives of Ukrainians in difficult times. Utilizing national roaming and access to 'Resilience Points' can be important factors for maintaining communication and informational support during hardships. In all cases, it is important to remain calm and stay connected.
