The Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Warns of Possible Blackout for 24 Hours: What Residents Should Do.
According to ТСН: The Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martinkiv addressed residents with a request to be prepared for possible difficulties, including a lack of electricity for 24 hours. The authorities are already preparing a plan to create heating points in case the temperature in apartments falls to +4 degrees.
During an operational meeting at the city council, Martinkiv emphasized the importance of preparing the city for a potential blackout that may last a day.
“We are heading towards a situation where there will be no light for 24 hours. We must be prepared,” Martinkiv stressed.
He also noted that in the event of prolonged power outages, the temperature in homes could drop to dangerous levels. Therefore, the city needs to develop a clear algorithm of actions for residents.
“We need to understand what people should do when it is 4 degrees and dark in the apartment. People should know where they can stay overnight,” the mayor emphasized.
Participants of the meeting discussed the operation of heating points. Martinkiv stated that they should be equipped not only on paper but also with generators, fuel, hot drinks, and basic products.
Among the possible locations for such points are educational institutions, particularly schools, which can quickly be converted into temporary shelters for people in emergency situations.
Forecasts Regarding the Situation with Electricity in Ukraine
Expert Volodymyr Omelchenko warned that stabilization of the energy system should not be expected until the end of winter, as constant attacks from the Russian Federation deplete the network faster than repairs can be made. He explained that the Kremlin is trying to divide the energy system into isolated parts to create chaos and force Ukraine to capitulate. The most difficult situation is currently in Kyiv, where heating problems arise due to a shortage of electricity. Omelchenko urged not to succumb to the influence of enemy bots and to remain calm, emphasizing that the authorities should pay more attention to alternative energy sources for critical infrastructure.
Preparation for a possible blackout in Ivano-Frankivsk is an important step in ensuring the safety and comfort of residents during difficult times. The availability of heating points and clear algorithms of actions will allow people to prepare for any changes in the provision of electricity. The issue of energy supply is relevant not only for regional centers but for the entire country, so proper attention to alternative energy sources is critically important under current conditions.
