Fuel Prices Rise by 3 Hryvnias: Expert Dismisses Rumors of a Major Surge.
Fuel Prices Climb in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Fuel prices in Ukraine have increased. Over the last two days, the price of gasoline has risen by 3 hryvnias, with a 2 hryvnia per liter increase today following a 1 hryvnia rise yesterday. Expert Serhiy Kuyun confirms this price hike but refutes widespread rumors suggesting a potential jump of 5 to 7 hryvnias. This increase comes amid global energy market volatility, which often influences local fuel costs.
Market Conditions
According to available data, the volume of gasoline contracted for March exceeds actual requirements by 30%. This suggests the market is not facing serious supply issues for fuel. Serhiy Kuyun emphasized this point, stating,
"we will not have problems with fuel,"highlighting the absence of a monopoly in the Ukrainian market.
Regarding future forecasts, Kuyun noted,
"a further price increase to 70 hryvnias per liter will not occur."He also pointed out that not all retail networks have raised prices yet, adding,
"I believe all market participants will adjust to this level."This provides hope that the market will stabilize despite the current price adjustments.
Therefore, while fuel prices in Ukraine are rising, experts believe the situation remains under control and do not anticipate significant supply disruptions. The price increase may be linked to seasonal fluctuations in supply and demand, as well as broader global oil market trends. The sufficient gasoline reserves for March and the competitive market structure indicate the situation is currently stable. Monitoring price trends and expert forecasts can help consumers better plan their fuel expenses in the near term.
