According to ТСН: Famous priest-blogger from Ternopil region Oleksiy Filiuk revealed the reasons why the Orthodox Church prohibits turning to fortune tellers.

He shared this on his Instagram.

“May God protect and defend. Don’t turn to any fortune teller, as it is a grave sin. The Word of God forbids it. It is even written - 'cursed is anyone who turns to mediums, to spiritists, to those who call upon spirits'. So you know, the price of these services is not in hryvnias, but on a spiritual level, it can be terrible. You will sell your soul to the devil, and then what will happen? There will be trouble. For what can a person give in exchange for their soul, for their life? There is eternity there, there is eternal life,” said Filiuk.

The priest emphasized that Christians should not turn to fortune tellers and psychics, as this is a grave sin.

Earlier, Filiuk also explained what the correct date for celebrating Christmas is - December 25 or January 7.

Oleksiy Filiuk, acting as a spiritual leader and blogger, emphasizes the importance of Orthodox traditions in the lives of believers. His explanations of current topics become significant for many seeking answers to questions of faith and spirituality. The remarks regarding fortune tellers once again remind us of the spiritual safety of the faithful.
