Italian Who Praised Putin Was Refused Entry to Ukraine: A Bus Story.
According to ТСН: A 53-year-old Italian named Rocco, who was traveling to Ukraine for his wedding, turned out to be a follower of anti-Ukrainian views, expressing support for Putin and justifying Russia's aggression. However, traveling with him was Daria Melnychenko, the daughter of a Ukrainian soldier, who decided not to allow the foreigner to enter Ukraine.
A Road Full of Conflicts
22-year-old Daria was returning home from Italy, but the trip quickly turned into a real struggle. Her bus neighbor, Rocco, did not hide his negative statements about Ukraine.
“At the first stop, we already started to clash. He shared his position, which I really didn’t like. I posted it on Threads — and the reaction was immediate,” Daria recalls.
The girl promised:
“He will not pass my border. I will do everything. I will lay down, but he will not drive into Ukraine.”
Embroidered Shirt and Fabrications
While the bus was traveling, Daria, with the help of other passengers, learned details about Rocco. It turned out that he supports the 'Russian world' — he published pro-Russian content on social media. As proof of his allegiance to Russia, he mentioned that he was previously married to a Russian woman.
Interestingly, upon arriving at the border, Rocco was wearing an embroidered shirt.
“When we were interrogated, he began to deny his words: he said, ‘Look — I have an embroidered shirt!’ But his social media revealed a pro-Russian position. And witnesses from the bus confirmed our conflict,” the girl noted.
Incident at the 'Chop' Border
Thanks to the publicity, border guards were already aware of the situation when the bus arrived at the border. Rocco's justifications did not work.
“Justifying Russian aggression against Ukraine is a violation. Border guards have the right not only to refuse crossing the border but also to prevent entry for several years,” commented the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service.
As a result, Rocco received a three-year ban on entering Ukraine. His fiancée from Bila Tserkva, who shares Rocco's views, decided to return with him to Hungary.
“At the border, he said: ‘Well, fine, I’ll have the wedding in Italy then, not in Ukraine.’ God, please! I definitely don’t want to see you here, just like half the country that witnessed all this,” Daria summarized.
Support from Ukrainians
After the incident, Daria received immense support from Ukrainians and local entrepreneurs. Users are thankful to the girl for her determination, as such a stance strengthens our country.
The State Border Guard Service urges anyone who witnesses such situations not to hesitate and to report immediately to their staff.
This situation once again emphasizes the importance of a conscious civic position in wartime. By standing up for their views, Ukrainians not only defend their country but also show that they are not ready to tolerate hostile sentiments. Collective actions and determination can significantly affect the situation and help prevent similar incidents in the future.
