Residents of Kyiv Region Blocked Roads Due to Power Outages: Reaction of the Head of OVA.
According to ТСН: In several settlements of the Kyiv region, people have blocked roads due to prolonged power outages caused by necessary emergency measures.
Address to Residents
The head of the Kyiv regional military administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, reacted to this situation. He emphasized that blocking the roads does not help restore power supply faster and only complicates the work of energy workers.
“I understand your outrage over the prolonged lack of electricity supply. But blocking roads will not speed up the restoration of power,” Kalashnyk said.
Situation with Power Supply
According to the official, emergency outages were a result of massive attacks by the Russian Federation on the energy system, coinciding with worsening weather conditions and severe frosts. This led to an increased number of accidents on the networks, and repair works are ongoing around the clock.
Kalashnyk also noted that he himself is facing emergency outages on the Left Bank of the capital, so he understands people's concerns well.
“There is also no light and it’s cool in my apartment, so I understand your concerns well,” he emphasized.
Restoration of Electricity
At the time of the address, about 5 thousand families had been powered, but still about 25 thousand subscribers remained without electricity supply. According to preliminary plans, power supply is expected to be restored in all settlements of the region by the end of the day, although it is not excluded that there may be isolated local outages.
The head of OVA called on residents to remain calm, avoid radical actions, and support each other.
Let us remind you that during the next week, severe power outages are planned in Kyiv, especially as cold temperatures increase electricity consumption.
This situation underscores how difficult it is for residents of the Kyiv region in war conditions and severe weather. All necessary measures are being taken to restore power supply, but support and understanding from citizens can significantly ease the work of energy workers in this difficult time.
