Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has voiced concerns over how the conflict in Iran is affecting peace talks for Ukraine.

“The war in Iran is negatively impacting negotiations for peace in Ukraine,”
Zelenskyy stated, emphasizing that regional stability is crucial for restarting dialogue.

Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that Ukraine is not prepared for negotiations to end the war. Meanwhile, Ankara has expressed its willingness to host the next round of talks between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, the Financial Times has reported that the peace process for the war in Ukraine faces a serious risk of collapse, highlighting the fragile nature of current peace initiatives.

The situation surrounding the Ukraine peace talks remains tense and unstable. The absence of concrete progress in the trilateral format, combined with the negative spillover effects from external conflicts like the war in Iran, underscores the significant hurdles that negotiating parties face.
