Research on Sexual Desire in Men and Women

According to TSN.ua: Research has shown that male sexual desire reaches its peak in the early 40s. In contrast, women experience their peak sexuality in their 20s to 30s, after which desire gradually declines and drops sharply after 50. Men in their 60s demonstrate the same libido as 20-year-old young men.

The study covered data from over 67,000 adults aged 20 to 84. According to the results, male sexual attraction begins to rise in their 20s to 30s and then peaks in the early 40s. Biologically, testosterone levels in men begin to decline after 30, but this does not affect their libido in older age.

The Impact of Relationships and Professions on Sexual Desire

It has been found that men in relationships have a higher level of sexual desire compared to singles. At the same time, women show the opposite trend: women in relationships demonstrate lower libido. The study also showed that a large number of children can reduce sexual attraction in women, while in men, on the contrary, it can increase it.

Among professions, those most prone to arousal were:

  • office workers
  • sales managers

The lowest level of libido was recorded among military personnel and machine operators. Participants with bisexual orientation reported the highest level of sexual desire.

These results indicate that the sexuality of older men can be not only stable but significantly more active than that of younger men, opening new perspectives for understanding male sexuality in society.

The obtained research results may have a significant impact on social and cultural perceptions of sexuality in different age groups. In particular, they may contribute to a rethinking of stereotypes about the sexuality of older people, as well as emphasize the importance of supporting healthy relationships at different life stages. This could serve as a basis for further research in the fields of psychology and sociology related to sexual desire and its changes throughout life.
