Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns of icy conditions and wet snow accumulation in several regions.
According to ТСН: The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns of weather changes for the coming day. Sunday will bring complications in many regions due to expected precipitation and wet snow accumulation. Meteorologists also emphasize the danger on the roads - most regions forecast the formation of ice.
Where precipitation will occur
An atmospheric front will influence the weather in most regions of the country. In the southern, eastern, and central areas, expect wet snow and rain.
Forecasters note that in these areas, wet snow accumulation and ice formation on wires and trees are possible. Furthermore, it will be windy in the southeast – gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected.
In the western and northern regions, significant precipitation is not expected, but the sky will remain cloudy.
Important warning for drivers: on the country's roads, except for the southern part, icy conditions may arise.
Temperature regime: return of frosts
Air temperature will vary significantly depending on the region:
Main part of the country: at night, the temperature will drop to -5 to -10°, during the day to -0 to -5° frost.
Carpathians: here will be the strongest cold - at night -8 to -13° frost.
South and southeast: the warmest - at night from -3° frost to +2° warm, during the day the temperature will rise to +1 to +6° warm (in Crimea up to +9° warm).
Weather in Kyiv and the region
In the capital, it will be dry but cool on January 4.
Kyiv: at night -6 to -8° frost, during the day -1 to -3° below zero.
Region: at night -5 to -10° frost, during the day -0 to -5° with a minus sign.
On the roads of Kyiv and the capital, icy conditions are observed, so drivers and pedestrians should be cautious.
We remind you that the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center predicts that in January, the average monthly temperature will be below normal, but the amount of precipitation in the first month of the new year will not exceed the norm.
Thus, the coming days in Ukraine will be filled with wet snow and low temperatures. Drivers should be particularly careful on the roads as icy conditions may lead to unpleasant situations. Monitoring weather conditions and exercising caution will help avoid serious problems.
