Frosty weather in Ukraine
According to ТСН: In the coming day, frosty weather will persist in Ukraine: at night, the temperature will drop to -18 degrees, and strong winds and precipitation are expected in some regions. However, from January 15, meteorologists promise a gradual warming.
Temperature fluctuations
According to the forecast, on the night of January 11, temperatures across Ukraine will fluctuate from -7 to -14 degrees, while in the north, temperatures may reach -14...-18 degrees. At the same time, the east and southeast are expected to have temperatures from 0 to +3 degrees.
During the daytime, temperatures will reach -5...-12 degrees, while in the eastern part of the country, the air will warm up to 0...+5 degrees.
Precipitation and wind
Snow is possible in the western regions, while in the east and southeast, snow, wet snow, and locally rain are expected due to a new southern cyclone. In most regions of Ukraine, significant precipitation is not expected.
The wind will mostly be from the north and northwest. In the western regions, it may be gusty, causing snowdrifts. In the east and northeast, strong gusts of wind up to 15–20 m/s are expected, while in other regions, the wind will be moderate.
Icing and magnetic storms
Meteorologists warn about the persistence of icing, especially in the southeast of Ukraine and in the Dnipropetrovsk region. At night and in the morning of January 11, an activation of magnetic storms is forecasted.
Weather in Kyiv
In Kyiv, on January 11, there will be no precipitation, but ice will form on the roads. The temperature at night will fluctuate around -16 degrees, and under clearings, it may drop to -18 degrees; during the day, the temperature will be -10...-12 degrees.
Forecasts for the coming days
According to preliminary forecasts, frosts will last for a few more days, but from January 15, a weakening of the cold is expected in most regions of Ukraine. On January 16–17, warming is possible, although meteorologists note that this change in weather will not be final, as winter is still in full swing.
