Mistakes in Employment Records: How Not to Lose Years of Service for Retirement

According to ТСН: The employment record book is an important document that confirms your work experience. If there are mistakes or inaccuracies in the entries regarding periods of work, additional evidence may be needed to confirm the experience.

Common mistakes that can lead to loss of experience:

Incorrect corrections. Striking out, pasting over, or simply marking information is unacceptable. Corrections must be formalized with a separate entry: "The entry number such-and-such is invalid," followed by the correct information, signature, and stamp.

Stamp issues. All entries about hiring and dismissal must contain a clear stamp of the company. If the stamp is unclear, has an erroneous EDPR code, or is completely missing, the Pension Fund of Ukraine may not consider the experience.

Absence of an entry about reorganization or renaming. If the company has changed its name or form of ownership, there must be a corresponding order in the employment record book. The absence of such information can lead to a break in the "chain" of experience, even if the employee remained in the same position.

The color of the ink and the pen also matter. The instruction of the Pension Fund of Ukraine clearly indicates which pen can be used for entries: blue, purple, or black. Entries made in red or green ink are invalid.

To preserve insurance experience and avoid delays in retirement, Ukrainians should digitize their employment records.

Overall, attention to detail when maintaining employment records is important for ensuring continuity of experience. Proper handling of all documentation will help avoid problems in the future, especially when retiring.
