According to TSN.ua: An unfamiliar stork has taken up residence in the nest of Ukraine’s beloved pair, Hrytsyk and Odarka, and is already acting like the new master of the house. On March 29, the nest was occupied by a newcomer who brought in twigs, leaves, and hay. This bird has now spent two consecutive nights there—a strong signal that it intends to stay.

Meanwhile, Hrytsyk, one of the original parents, has returned to Ukraine, raising hopes that a new pair may form in the nest. As ornithologist Iryna Sarozhynska noted,

“So now we wait and watch for another stork to arrive, so that a pair can form in the nest.”
