According to ТСН: The Dnipro metro fascinates passengers with marble featuring captivating artifacts. Among the stones, genuine ammonite imprints can be found, which are hundreds of millions of years old.

According to a journalist, the marble décor of the "Pokrovska" metro station contains traces of ancient marine inhabitants from the Mesozoic era. The stone used comes from the Novoselytska deposit in Transcarpathia — the same one that adorns the Kyiv station "Universitet". This proves that the territory of modern Transcarpathia was once a seabed.

Research of the Metro

The Dnipro metro is decorated with marble from various corners of the world: in addition to Transcarpathia, stones from the Urals, Uzbekistan, and Cuba have been used.

The journalist notes that it is easier to find imprints of ancient marine organisms at "Pokrovska" than at other stations. After passing through one vestibule for about ten minutes, he counted seven shells that impress with their antiquity.

Further research on the marble coverings of the metro may reveal even more interesting "marine" finds and help better understand the geological history of this region.

We remind you that earlier we reported that in the village of Rozmarki, located in the United Kingdom, a treasure with bronze decorations was found, which had been lying in the ground for about three thousand years.

These unique finds in the Dnipro metro not only emphasize the history of the region but also remind us of how long ago ancient aquatic ecosystems thrived in these areas. It is quite likely that further research will attract the attention of both scientists and tourists, making the station even more appealing to visitors.
