Heating Still Out for 378 Kyiv Apartment Blocks: Full Restoration Timeline.
Kyiv's Heating Crisis
According to TSN.ua: As of January 30, heating remains unavailable in 378 multi-story residential buildings across Kyiv. Municipal utility crews are continuing their efforts to restore the central heating supply. This situation follows a difficult evening on January 29, when 454 apartment buildings were without heat, with the Desnianskyi district, specifically the Troieshchyna area, being particularly hard hit.
Progress is being made, however. On Troieshchyna, heat has already been restored to more than 100 buildings, and an additional 50 buildings were reconnected to the system overnight. Full restoration of heating for all affected buildings in the capital is now projected to occur around February 1-2.
Challenges in Restoring Heat
Oleksandr Kharchenko noted that the restoration process is complicated by the poor condition of internal heating networks in older buildings. The situation remains under close monitoring, with utility services doing everything possible to return heat to all of Kyiv's high-rises as swiftly as possible.

This recurring issue with aging infrastructure underscores the need for comprehensive modernization to prevent similar crises in the future. Despite these challenges, the municipal crews persist in their work, demonstrating their commitment to responding to such emergencies. The city's residents are enduring a harsh winter, making the restoration of utilities a top priority for authorities.
