Russia’s Spring Offensive Collapses: Over 900 Invaders Killed in Just 36 Hours in Zaporizhzhia.
Fighting Heats Up on the Zaporizhzhia Front
According to TSN.ua: Moscow’s much-anticipated spring-summer offensive has backfired spectacularly, with Russian forces suffering devastating losses in the Zaporizhzhia sector. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled enemy assaults and inflicted heavy casualties. According to the General Staff, the defense forces eliminated or wounded 1,710 occupiers over the past day alone, bringing the estimated total losses of the Russian army to approximately 1,282,570 personnel.
Along a 100-kilometer stretch of the front line, more than 900 Russian soldiers were confirmed dead in just a day and a half. On March 17, Ukrainian forces also achieved a tactical advance in Novodanylivka. The enemy took severe punishment in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where 268 combat engagements were recorded during the previous day.
Donetsk Region and Overall Casualties
Meanwhile, in the Donetsk region, the Russian army dropped 170 guided aerial bombs and deployed over 5,000 kamikaze drones. As Robert Brovdi pointed out, the invaders’ total losses are actually much higher. Addressing the situation on the ground, Ukrainian forces representative 'Muchnoy' confirmed that both settlements remain under Ukrainian control—both physically and through firepower.
Amid intense combat operations, it is worth noting that the Zaporizhzhia front has become the epicenter of the confrontation. The Russian command is trying to push forward with its plans, but Ukrainian forces are demonstrating resilience and a firm commitment to holding their positions. The results of recent days underscore the failure of Russia’s spring offensive, highlighting the effectiveness of Ukrainian military actions in this region.
The front-line situation remains tense, and the Zaporizhzhia sector continues to be critically important for both sides. The heavy losses suffered by Russian troops point to the serious difficulties the occupation army faces in the face of organized resistance from Ukrainian forces. Further battles in this area could significantly influence the course of the conflict, as well as the morale of both armies.
