According to ТСН: American comedian and actress Amy Schumer has confirmed that she is divorcing her husband, farmer and chef Chris Fischer. The couple was married for over seven years.

According to reports, Schumer filed for divorce in New York County. She decided to end her relationship with Chris Fischer, with whom she married on February 13, 2018. In May 2019, they welcomed their son Gene, who is now six and a half years old. The actress first spoke about the split on December 12, admitting that the decision was difficult but considered.

"Chris and I made the tough decision to end our marriage after seven years together. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We ask for respect for our privacy during this difficult time," the artist wrote on Instagram.

The couple did not rush into divorce formalities and only addressed the issue recently. Sources claim that Amy and Chris had been trying for a long time to cope with difficulties in their relationship. Later, Schumer returned to the topic of their split, humorously denying some rumors.

"We are getting divorced not because I lost weight and thought I could attract anyone. And not because he is an attractive chef — a James Beard Award winner. We are bound by friendship, love, and mutual respect. We are a family forever," Schumer emphasized.

After this, the actress deleted all posts related to her ex-husband, leaving only those concerning the co-parenting of their son.

Recently, singer Olena Topolia commented on the ambiguous statements of her ex-boyfriend Vadym Lysytsia regarding her divorce from Taras Topolia.

This divorce came as a surprise to many fans of the couple, who appeared to be happy together. Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer have always emphasized their focus on raising their son, so their decision marks an important stage in their lives. However, given their commitments, one can hope for continued cooperation on matters concerning Gene's upbringing.
