Viktor Broniuk on His Service in Territorial Defense and the Prospect of Rejoining the Armed Forces.
Viktor Broniuk’s Experience in Territorial Defense
According to TSN.ua: Viktor Broniuk, the well-known Ukrainian singer and frontman of the band "TIK," has opened up about his time serving in territorial defense during the war and addressed whether he might return to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He enlisted in the territorial defense at the very start of the full-scale invasion, serving with the 171st Battalion of the 120th Brigade. His military duties included logistics and communications, and he later continued his service within the "Dniester" military group.
However, after some time, Broniuk left the military due to his father’s stroke, which required care. Despite stepping away from active duty, he remains deeply involved in volunteer work and leads the charitable foundation "Podilska Hromada." He regularly meets with his former comrades, keeping close ties with those he served alongside.
Civic Engagement and Mutual Support
"You won’t believe it, but just yesterday friends I served with suggested I rejoin. For now, though, I’m working where I can—on the volunteer front." — Viktor Broniuk
Broniuk’s story highlights the importance of civic engagement and the mutual support Ukrainians offer each other during wartime. His journey from service to volunteering exemplifies how people from all walks of life can contribute to national defense and aid those in need. The fact that his friends and colleagues continue to invite him back to military service also underscores the strong sense of community and solidarity among veterans and active service members.
