Jamala refused to be a judge in the National Selection for Eurovision: what the singer explained.

According to ТСН: Ukrainian singer Jamala has declined to participate in the jury of the National Selection for 'Eurovision-2026' and explained her decision.

This year she is taking on the role of producer for the national selection, but despite the possibility of combining this role with judging, she chose a different path. Jamala emphasized that her main goal is to support the participants. She plans to work with them until the very end of the selection process.

“No, I will not (be in the jury – ed.). I consciously did not want to be in the jury, although we know there were music producers who were in the jury. For me, it is important to have the opportunity to prepare and support everyone without exception - until the very end,” the singer explained.

Jamala also talked about the final of the national selection, noting that it will be one of the strongest in recent years. According to her, truly talented artists have gathered among the participants. As for the visual design of the national selection, creative producer Herman Nенов will talk about it, but Jamala stressed that she will influence the image of the contestants on stage.

“To me, this sounds like a very strong selection. In my opinion - one of the strongest lineups of singers in recent years. The songs are for every taste and mood, but all of them are competitive. From a visual point of view - it is up to Herman and the team. Although I also have my say in the appearance of the artists,” the singer noted.

It is also worth mentioning that currently, voting for the tenth finalist of the national selection is ongoing in 'Diia'. One of the contestants has already hinted at dishonesty in the results.

The national selection, thanks to the efforts of Jamala and other participants, promises to be interesting and tense.
