Zelensky deprived Turchinov of citizenship: what is known about the decree

According to inkorr.com: Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov expressed his support for the former head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Lysak, publicly thanking him for their joint work. He emphasized the importance of openness and honesty in political activity.

We just met face-to-face and said: 'If there are questions, they should be asked directly and everything should be discussed face to face, without looking away.' In politics, this is extremely valuable. We did not have friendship. Instead, there was normal, manly, honest and professional interaction... It was enough for us to meet once a week (or two), so that all megapolis issues could be resolved without unnecessary discussions and PR.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree depriving several individuals with Russian passports of Ukrainian citizenship, including Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov, former MP from the Party of Regions Oleg Tsarov, and ballet dancer Serhiy Polunin. Gennady Trukhanov, in turn, reacted to the President's decision, calling it a forgery and stating that he does not have Russian citizenship.

The appointment of Serhiy Lysak as the head of the Odessa City Military Administration caused dissatisfaction among local residents. A decision was also made to suspend the powers of the Mayor of Odessa after losing citizenship. Additionally, the head of KP 'Odesmirtans' Viktor Vovk received a passport from Simferopol, further inciting outrage.

In various situations, city leaders often support their colleagues, but the actions of officials can elicit different reactions in society, generating both outrage and support.

The situation surrounding the change of leadership and evaluation of actions on the ground demonstrates how important political interaction is in modern Ukrainian society. Decisions concerning citizenship and political position are perceived differently, depending on the context and personal sympathies of the population. This can influence the further developments in the region and the settings of relationships between city administrations.
