According to ТСН: Rescuers continue to battle a massive fire in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv. The fire broke out in a three-storey warehouse building on Volynska Street.

Fire details

The State Emergency Service of Kyiv commented on the situation.

“The area of the fire is 800 square meters. The third floor and the roof of the building are on fire. The fire extinguishment is ongoing. 10 units of equipment and 40 rescuers are involved. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties,” the city’s SES reported.

Causes and circumstances

Law enforcement will begin an investigation into the causes of the fire after the fire is extinguished. The patrol police have closed the road on Volynska Street due to the increased rank of the fire.

Social media reports suggest that there may be a service station in the building, but rescuers state that it is used as a warehouse.

“There may be a service station on the first floor, but definitely not on the second, while the third is on fire and the roof is burning. Where exactly the fire started and what the cause is will be established by specialists,” rescuers explain.

Currently, rescue operations are ongoing, and the relevant services are trying to localize the fire to prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings. Given the scale of the fire, the situation remains tense, but the rescuers are working powerfully to quickly extinguish the blaze.
