Children Hospitalized After Minibus Crashes on Icy Road in Zakarpattia.
Minibus Crash in Western Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: A minibus carrying children slid off the road and overturned on January 25 in the Zakarpattia region. The accident, caused by black ice, occurred between the villages of Perechyn and Zarichovo. This region in western Ukraine is known for its mountainous terrain, which can become particularly hazardous in winter weather.
Six children and one woman were taken to Uzhhorod Hospital with various injuries. According to doctor Vitalii Hlahola, all victims are in stable condition and have received the necessary medical care. The crash happened amid dangerous weather conditions that led to ice forming on the roadway.
Heightened Caution Urged for Drivers
This incident underscores the critical need for drivers to obey traffic rules and exercise extreme caution during poor weather. Icy conditions significantly reduce vehicle control, requiring heightened attention to prevent similar future tragedies.
While the victims' condition is currently stable, accidents of this nature can have severe consequences and warrant continued vigilance from road safety authorities.
