Warning from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine warns citizens about a phishing email campaign that is being carried out in the name of the agency but is actually fake. In this regard, the Center for Counteracting Disinformation notes that the Ministry of Energy does not send out emails.

Caution when receiving emails

Phishing emails contain calls for payment, as well as attached files or links for downloading. It is important to note that such information may contain malicious software that can lead to financial losses. For example, one resident of the Bratska community lost 100,000 hryvnias due to a phishing link.

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation calls on citizens to follow these recommendations:

  • Do not open attachments;
  • Do not click on links;
  • Do not make any payments based on such emails.

In case of receiving similar messages, it is recommended to ignore them to avoid potential financial losses and to keep personal information secure.

This situation highlights the importance of caution in the online space as phishing attacks become increasingly common, especially in conditions of economic instability. Citizens should be particularly vigilant regarding any messages that require financial actions and verify the authenticity of information sources to avoid potential risks.
