According to ТСН: In Ukraine, due to worsening weather conditions and a significant drop in temperature, a decision has been made regarding changes in the educational process. Educational institutions are recommended to organize distance learning or extend winter holidays.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved new rules for educational institutions. Educational establishments are recommended to switch to distance learning or extend holidays at least until January 19. The Ministry of Education, together with local administrations, has prepared recommendations for transitioning to the new regime.

Kyiv

In the capital's schools, the academic semester will begin on January 12. However, learning will take place in a mixed format: some students will study in classrooms, while others can join online lessons.

Kyiv region

In the Kyiv region, most schools will continue the holidays until January 19. Educational institutions that planned to resume education on January 12 are advised to either extend the holidays or switch to a distance format.

Lviv region

In Lviv, winter holidays will be extended by three days — from January 12 to 14 inclusive. Educational institutions in the region are transitioning to distance learning or extending holidays until January 19.

Odesa region

Educational institutions in Odesa are recommended to switch to distance learning or extend winter holidays until January 19.

Dnipro region

In Dnipro and the region, from January 12 to 16, general secondary education institutions will switch to the distance learning format.

Kharkiv region

Schools in Kharkiv and the region will start the educational process after winter holidays on January 12. 'Learning will be conducted in a mixed format — online and offline at safe locations.'

Chernihiv region

In Chernihiv region, educational institutions are recommended to organize distance learning or extend holidays until January 19. In Chernihiv, winter holidays will last until January 16.

Kirovohrad region

The authorities recommend educational institutions to extend winter holidays until January 18. Some schools will end holidays on January 16, while others may switch to distance learning.

Poltava region

In Poltava, from January 12, educational institutions will operate in the usual mode, without changes in the format of learning.

Zaporizhzhia region

In Zaporizhzhia, it has been decided not to extend holidays. From January 12, students return to classes, while educational institutions are equipped with generators and shelters.

Mykolaiv region

The authorities of Mykolaiv do not see the need to switch to distance learning due to weather conditions.

Sumy region

The local authorities recommend considering the possibility of organizing distance learning or extending winter holidays in educational institutions until January 19.

Khmelnytskyi region

Schools will switch to distance learning from January 12 to 16. The region will also organize distance learning or extend holidays, depending on the situation in each community.

Zhytomyr region

After the end of winter holidays, general secondary education institutions in Zhytomyr will temporarily work in a distance format until January 19.

Vinnytsia region

In Vinnytsia region, due to worsening weather, it is recommended to switch to online learning or extend holidays until January 19.

Ternopil region

In 27 communities in Ternopil region, learning will be conducted remotely. Schools in 24 communities will extend holidays until January 19, but in Ternopil, learning will resume on January 12.

Rivne region

From January 12, students of educational institutions in Rivne will return to classes.

Volyn region

The regional military administration recommends territorial communities to implement distance learning until January 19, while in Lutsk community, distance learning will last from January 12 to 14.

Ivano-Frankivsk region

The regional center has decided not to extend winter holidays, although in some districts they will continue until January 19. In some communities, learning will take place remotely from January 12.

Zakarpattia region

The regional commission recommends extending holidays until January 19 or switching to distance learning, but in some communities, educational institutions will operate offline.

Chernivtsi region

In Bukovina, over 200 schools are on holiday, while in over six communities, distance learning is organized, and in almost 50 schools, students study in person, including in Chernivtsi.

It is reminded that the authorities of Lviv region made an important statement against the backdrop of bad weather.
In the region, it is recommended to transfer enterprises, institutions, and organizations to a remote work format. The exception is critical infrastructure facilities.
At the same time, the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko urged people to leave the city, where there are alternative sources of power and heat.
In the context of a massive attack on the capital last night, a difficult situation arose in the city due to interruptions in heating and water supply.

As a result of changes in the learning process related to weather conditions, some educational institutions continue winter holidays, while others switch to distance learning. This decision is aimed at ensuring the safety of students and educators in conditions of temperature drops and adverse weather conditions. An important part of the recommendations is the need to inform parents and students about changes in the learning schedule.

Meanwhile, the Forty continues to extend winter holidays, although in large cities such as Kyiv and Lviv, learning will resume on January 12 in a mixed format, allowing for safe learning conditions and to visually assess the weather situation.
