According to TSN.ua: Trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin has dropped to its lowest level since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. According to the latest survey, the share of people who say they trust Putin fell from 76.7% to 75%. In addition, 20.1% of respondents openly stated they do not trust the president. These figures point to growing public concern over the country's direction.

Presidential Job Approval Rating

Polling conducted between March 19 and March 22 shows that Putin’s job approval now stands at 70.1%, a drop of 1.9 percentage points from the previous week. This is the lowest approval rating recorded since February 20, 2022, signaling a clear erosion of public support. Analysts link the decline in Putin’s ratings to the daily hardships ordinary Russians are facing.

Furthermore, 67% of those surveyed believe the country should shift toward peace negotiations. This sentiment may be driven by current challenges Russia is grappling with, including a value-added tax (VAT) increase implemented earlier this year. Additionally, attacks on key ports and oil refineries within Russian territory have been reported, potentially affecting both the broader national situation and public mood.

The drop in trust toward Vladimir Putin, combined with rising support for peace talks, suggests that the Russian population is becoming increasingly aware of the difficulties brought on by the war and economic strain.
