According to ТСН: The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, addressed regional administrations and local authorities with a request to organize a remote working regime for institutions and organizations due to severe weather conditions. These recommendations have been adopted to protect the health of citizens and stabilize the situation in the country.

She noted on social media that the military administrations of the regions and the Kyiv City Council must urgently consider the possibility of transferring employees to remote work. Each decision should be made taking into account the specific conditions in the region.

The Prime Minister emphasized the selective nature of these measures.

“Important: these recommendations do not apply to critical infrastructure facilities and other subjects for which remote work is unacceptable in wartime conditions. Local self-government bodies are recommended to take these decisions into account within their powers. Our priority is the safety of people, the preservation of children's health, and the stable operation of critical systems,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

The government hopes that switching to remote work will reduce the load on transportation infrastructure and energy networks, which are currently operating in an intensified mode due to abnormal frosts and snowstorms.

What is known about the bad weather in Ukraine

Dangerous meteorological phenomena are observed in several regions of Ukraine — significant snowfalls, blizzards, and strong winds.

Moreover, the severe weather has paralyzed roads in Ukraine, restricting traffic in several western regions — Lviv, Rivne, and Volyn. The bad weather continues to spread through Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, and Chernivtsi regions, as well as Kyiv region.

Kyiv residents are urged not to drive tomorrow and to work remotely if possible.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko also announced changes in the format of education.

In light of the deteriorating weather and worsening winter conditions, Ukrainians have the opportunity to better prepare for adverse conditions. Remote work and changes in education can help ensure the safety of citizens and support stability in society as the bad weather continues to affect the country.
