Russians again attack Kherson CHPP: the city may be left without heating

According to ТСН: Since early morning on January 2, one of the heat generation facilities in Kherson has been under shelling by Russian troops, which may lead to disruptions in the city's heating supply.

The head of the OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin, noted that "The enemy's goal is obvious - with targeted strikes on civilian infrastructure, they are trying to leave Kherson without heat in winter."

The head of the MVA, Yaroslav Shanko, added that electricity has been partially disconnected in the Dnipro district, and a fatality case has been recorded - a 51-year-old man.

Damage to the CHPP

It is worth recalling that as a result of the new attack by Russian invaders on the Kherson CHPP, the station was seriously damaged, and one of the employees was injured. This was reported by the head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretsky.

"The Kherson CHPP was the only source of heat for tens of thousands of apartments in the city. The enemy attacks the station almost every day," said Koretsky.

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is working together with the local authorities to provide the population with backup heating supply.

Attacks on the CHPP

On December 4, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine reported that after another targeted attack, the Kherson CHPP was virtually destroyed.

"The Kherson CHPP is exclusively a civilian facility. Its sole purpose is to provide heating in the homes of city residents," emphasized Naftogaz.

However, Russian invaders continue to systematically attack this enterprise.

The situation in Kherson remains extremely serious. Since the city relies on the heating supply from this station, further attacks could lead to a humanitarian crisis, especially during the winter period. Local authorities and energy companies are making every effort to provide the population, but the consequences of these attacks could be catastrophic.
