Ukrainian Special Forces Strike Crimea and Zaporizhzhia: Command Posts and Russian Air Defense Destroyed.
Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Military Assets
According to TSN.ua: Units from Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces carried out a series of strikes against Russian military targets in Crimea and the Zaporizhzhia region. The attacks targeted missile command centers, air defense systems, and ammunition depots. These operations took place during the night of March 17, 2023, when Middle-strike units of the Special Operations Forces hit strategic enemy positions.
In the settlement of Verkhnokurganne, a missile system command post and a mobile firing group were struck. In Shkilne, a drone from the Special Operations Forces destroyed a camouflaged component of an S-400 surface-to-air missile system. Near Zaporizhzhia, in the village of Terpinnya, an ammunition depot belonging to Russia’s 58th Combined Arms Army was hit. Notably, on March 14, 2023, explosions were already reported at an enemy ammunition depot in occupied Dovzhansk, highlighting ongoing Ukrainian operations in the area.
Attacks on Strategic Targets
Additionally, during the night of March 17, 2023, drones struck the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in Staraya Russa, located in Russia’s Novgorod Oblast. According to Serhiy Sternenko,
“after the strike, detonation and a fire broke out.”These attacks underscore the Ukrainian military’s active efforts to counter Russian forces, particularly in occupied territories.
The strikes demonstrate the continuation of strategic operations by Ukrainian forces in response to Russian aggression. These actions not only degrade the enemy’s combat capabilities but also showcase the Ukrainian army’s ability to conduct effective operations far from the front lines. Activity in occupied regions further reflects the growing confidence of Ukrainian troops in their operational reach.
