Horrific crime in Kyiv

According to TSN.ua: A man purchased a 5-year-old child for 100 US dollars and then raped her in a shocking case that has drawn widespread condemnation. The trial court moved swiftly, handing down the maximum penalty of 15 years in prison to the convicted individual. The prosecutor handling the case had specifically pushed for the harshest sentence, reflecting the severity of the crime.

An appeals court later upheld the sentence without any changes. In addition, the child’s mother—who was reportedly involved in the crime—also received a 15-year prison term. The girl was removed from her family and placed in a Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation for Children to ensure she receives the necessary care and support during this difficult time.

Public outcry and the need to protect children
