According to ТСН: On the holiday day before the New Year, serious problems arose with rail transport in Poland due to technical malfunctions and adverse weather conditions. Passengers witnessed the cancellation of flights and significant delays, as about 16 trains stood still for over an hour.

Problems on the railway

According to reports, difficulties were observed at the Pruszków station and in other sections of the railway. Snow and fallen trees blocked the tracks. Only after 8:00 AM did the movement begin to gradually resume, but some trains were still arriving with delays.

As of 11:00 AM, train movement in the country resumed without disruptions. On the Działdowo-Olsztyn and Nidzica-Wąplewo sections, services worked on clearing the tracks of snow drifts.

Problems on the roads

Heavy snowfall caused significant traffic jams: kilometer-long traffic congestion formed on the S7 highway, delaying hundreds of vehicles, while at the Modlin airport, aviation operations were temporarily suspended.

The situation is gradually stabilizing, but the holiday day in Poland proved to be difficult for travelers.

Weather conditions in Ukraine

The first day of the new 2026 year will meet Ukraine with snowstorms. Meteorologists noted that snowfalls and severe frosts are expected. Additionally, on December 31, tourists in the Carpathians were advised to download an application for emergency communication with rescuers.

This news indicates the difficult weather conditions affecting the transportation system in Poland and Ukraine. Passengers are advised to be careful and check train and flight schedules, as the situation may change. Severe weather impacts travel planning, so it is important to be prepared for possible delays and changes in the schedule.
