Over 200 Ukrainian Experts Deployed to the Middle East to Counter Drone Threats.
Ukraine's Global Role in Drone Defense
According to TSN.ua: Ukraine is leveraging its battlefield experience to assist allies abroad, having dispatched more than 200 specialists to several Middle Eastern nations. Their mission: to help counter Iranian-made 'Shahed' drones. Currently, 201 military experts are stationed in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, with additional teams en route to Kuwait.
“Our teams are already in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, and are also heading to Kuwait,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during his address to the UK Parliament.
According to the president, this initiative is part of a broader proposal for international cooperation in drone countermeasures.
New Agreements and Strategic Moves
Alongside these deployments, Ukraine has signed a new defense agreement with the United Kingdom. The deal includes funding to establish a Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence within Ukraine's Ministry of Defense. London is contributing £500,000 to support a team of experts, which will help improve the effectiveness of defenses against unmanned aerial vehicles.
This collaboration with international partners, particularly the UK, opens up new avenues for strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and countering threats posed by Iranian 'Shahed' drones.
The initiative underscores the growing importance of global security cooperation, especially as drone-based threats become more prevalent. By working closely with Middle Eastern countries and receiving support from the UK, Ukraine gains access to advanced technologies and expertise. This not only enhances its own defense posture but also contributes to regional stability and the security of its allies.
