Rose McGowan Accuses Producers of Charmed of Blackmail and Weight Control.
According to ТСН: Famous Hollywood actress Rose McGowan has made accusations against the management of the series 'Charmed', alleging threats and bullying.
The star made a series of sensational statements during the podcast We Need to Talk, where she did not hide her dissatisfaction with her participation in the project, reports Daily Mail. According to the actress, the creators of the show strictly controlled her weight. McGowan claims that she was forbidden to gain weight, and before filming, she had to undergo thorough checks. She noted that she felt like 'merchandise'.
“They literally surrounded me to check my weight. I felt like they were inspecting their product,” the actress complained.
She also mentioned possible blackmail from the producers. The star stated that she was not allowed to leave the project, threatening legal action if she did. McGowan added that she was threatened with huge financial losses.
“If you leave, we will sue you. No matter what job you get, we will take your salary for the rest of your life, and then pursue your family,” the actress declared.
The publication tried to obtain comments from the creators of the show 'Charmed', but they have not responded yet. Meanwhile, doubts have arisen on social media about the truth of the actress's words, as the weight of another star of the show, Holly Marie Combs, varied over the seasons, indicating an absence of strict control.
Rose McGowan joined the series in 2001, replacing actress Shannen Doherty, and starred in it until its conclusion.
Currently, the situation surrounding McGowan's allegations is sparking lively discussion in the media and social networks. This is not the first time that actors are subjected to strict conditions in the industry, but such statements raise important questions about ethics in filmmaking. Such scandals prompt thoughts on the need to protect the rights of artists in a competitive field like show business.
