Draining Water from Kyiv's Heating Systems: What the Technical Procedure Actually Means.
According to ТСН: The drainage of water from heating systems in Kyiv does not indicate a prolonged shutdown of heat supply for citizens. It is a common technical procedure performed for emergency repairs during the cold season.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine and head of the Servant of the People faction in Kyiv City Council, Andrii Vitrenko. He urged people not to believe the 'scare stories' spreading on social media.
“The Kyiv City State Administration has already explained: this is a technical procedure used during emergencies or shelling to prevent pipes from 'bursting' due to frost and does not mean a prolonged heat shutdown,” the official stated.
Andrii Vitrenko urged Kyiv residents:
not to spread unverified information from chats or anonymous channels;
to trust only official sources and information from local services;
to document heating problems in their homes and contact management companies or local authorities, and to call city 'hotlines';
to support neighbors: elderly people, those who are alone, and families of servicemen.
According to the official, the enemy is trying to destabilize the situation in the country through fear and chaos.
“Kyiv has gone through darkness, without water and heat, many times, and each time it has endured. For our strength lies in unity and mutual support,” he concluded.
It is worth noting that city services plan to restore heat supply in part of the capital's apartment buildings that were left without heating after a large-scale attack on critical infrastructure facilities. Due to network damage, about 6,000 apartment buildings in the capital remained without heat.
Kyiv continues to tackle challenges related to heating during the cold season. Authorities urge residents to be cautious and to refer to official sources of information, as stability in the city depends not only on technical procedures but also on the unity and support of the community.Read also
