ATB Supermarkets Announce New Winter Animal Welfare Policy.
ATB Supermarkets' Statement on Stray Animals
According to TSN.ua: Following an incident involving a stray dog near one of its stores in Dnipro, the ATB supermarket chain has issued a statement and announced new measures for its staff and animal protection initiatives. The company plans to begin a collaboration with the humanitarian movement UAnimals to improve conditions for stray animals during winter. This move comes as many regions in Ukraine experience harsh winters where stray animals are particularly vulnerable.
New Animal Protection Measures
The company is introducing a unified action protocol for periods of extreme cold, as temperatures below -5°C are deemed critical for providing aid to stray animals. Among the new provisions is the creation of designated warm shelters for animals to use temporarily. This is intended to reduce the risk of hypothermia and ensure proper conditions for strays on freezing days.
ATB also plans active cooperation with specialized animal shelters, which should improve living conditions for stray animals in cities. The company is considering engaging with relevant organizations to develop long-term standards for animal assistance during the cold season.
We adhere to a simple principle: during severe frosts, stray animals deserve a chance to get warm, and such situations must be resolved exclusively with humanity.
ATB Representatives
These initiatives demonstrate the company's serious approach to the problem of stray animals, who need support and protection during winter's cold. Collaboration with UAnimals and the implementation of new assistance standards could become important steps in fostering a more conscious society that cares for animal welfare. This may also help raise public awareness about humane treatment of stray animals and their needs during the winter months.
