Russian Attack on January 1: New Power Outages in Volyn and Odesa Regions

According to ТСН: Russian drones attacked energy facilities in several regions of Ukraine on the night of January 1. As a result of these attacks, many consumers were left without electricity in the Volyn and Odesa regions by morning, and new outages occurred in the Chernihiv region.

This information was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Restoration of Electricity Supply

Emergency recovery operations are ongoing – energy workers are making every effort to restore electricity supply to consumers as quickly as possible.

Electricity Consumption Restrictions

Consumption restrictions on electricity have been introduced in all regions of Ukraine: power limitation schedules are in effect for industrial enterprises and businesses, and hour-long power outages for the population have also been implemented.

The Ministry of Energy has urged Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly throughout the day, especially in the morning and evening during peak loads. This will help reduce the load on the energy system.

Consequences of Attacks on Energy Facilities

It is important to note that during the Russian attack on New Year’s Eve in Volyn, critical infrastructure facilities were hit: over 103,000 subscribers were left without electricity in Lutsk and the Kovel district.

Additionally, the enemy attacked the Odesa region – just a few minutes before 2026, drones struck an energy facility, causing fires and power outages for strategic enterprises that ensure the city's vital activities.

These attacks confirm the ongoing threat posed by Russian attacks to Ukraine's energy system. The trials that the country is experiencing force energy workers to work on restoring infrastructure and implementing alternative solutions to ensure the stability of electricity supply. Every watt of electricity used now matters, so it is essential for every consumer to actively follow the recommendations for energy saving.
