A-95 Director Denies Diesel Shortage, Calling Supply Situation Stable.
Diesel Fuel Supply Situation in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Serhiy Kuyun, head of the Consulting Group A-95, has pushed back against claims of a diesel fuel shortage in Ukraine, insisting that supply conditions remain stable. He stated that no deficit currently exists and none is expected. According to Kuyun, the recent reports stem from a misinterpretation of professional market analyses.
As of March 23, 2023, Ukraine holds diesel reserves sufficient to last through the end of the month. Delivery volumes for March match the levels recorded in 2025, indicating consistent supply flows. Contracting for April is ongoing, with roughly 40% of the required fuel volume already secured on average.
Still, a Reuters article notes that the outlook for April supply remains uncertain. Despite this, Kuyun expressed confidence in the positive prospects for Ukraine’s diesel market.
Why Supply Stability Matters
The stability of diesel fuel deliveries is a critical issue for Ukraine, especially amid global market volatility and potential supply chain disruptions. Confirming that inventories and shipments are steady is vital for the country’s economic activity, particularly in the agricultural sector, where diesel serves as a primary resource. However, the lingering uncertainty around April deliveries highlights that the market still faces risks that could impact the situation going forward.
