Ukraine's Pension Fund Launches Digital ID: How to Get It via the Diia App.
Digital Pension Cards Now Available in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Ukraine's Pension Fund has introduced an electronic pension certificate that citizens can obtain through the Diia mobile application or online. Although this service was launched over a year ago, it continues to streamline how Ukrainians access their pension documents. The digital ID can fully replace the traditional paper or plastic card, offering greater convenience for users.
Ways to Obtain the Digital Certificate
There are two main methods to apply for the electronic pension ID:
- Via the Pension Fund of Ukraine web portal;
- At a service center in person.
To receive the e-certificate, applicants must prepare a specific set of documents, including:
- scanned copies of their passport;
- tax identification number;
- a color photograph;
- a signature sample.
These materials are required to verify the applicant's identity and confirm their eligibility for pension payments.
As a reminder, a scheduled pension indexation took place in Ukraine in March 2026. This adjustment affected the base portion of pensions, marking a significant step in maintaining social protection for citizens. In light of these changes, the rollout of the digital pension card aims to make it easier for Ukrainians to access their pension rights and simplify administrative processes.
Thanks to this new digital service from the Pension Fund, Ukrainians can now receive their pension certificates faster and with greater ease—a key advantage in today's era of digital transformation.
The introduction of electronic pension IDs in Ukraine reflects a broader push toward digitizing government services, reducing red tape, and making public services more accessible. This innovation is expected to improve the quality of life for pensioners by simplifying access to essential documents and payment information. With further pension indexation on the horizon, the digital ID will become a vital tool in strengthening social protection for Ukrainians.
