February 2026 Income Data for Ukrainians Released

According to TSN.ua: In February 2026, the average monthly salary in Ukraine reached 28,321 hryvnias, reflecting a 1.2% increase compared to January, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. However, as of March 1, 2026, unpaid wage arrears had climbed to 3.5 million hryvnias, signaling ongoing financial strain for some employers. These figures offer a snapshot of both progress and persistent challenges in the country’s labor market.

Regional Wage Disparities and Sectoral Highlights

Among Ukrainian regions, the capital city of Kyiv posted the highest average earnings at 45,651 hryvnias, followed by Kyiv Oblast with 29,077 hryvnias. At the other end of the spectrum, the lowest pay levels were recorded in Kirovohrad Oblast at 20,083 hryvnias and Chernivtsi Oblast at 20,460 hryvnias. By economic sector, the information and telecommunications industry led with an average salary of 78,941 hryvnias, while the arts, sports, entertainment, and recreation sector brought up the rear at just 18,681 hryvnias.

These statistics highlight a gradual upward trend in average wages across Ukraine, yet the growing payroll debt raises concerns about corporate financial stability. The concentration of high earnings in specific regions and industries may also fuel internal migration and exacerbate social inequality, as economic opportunities remain unevenly distributed.
